Who We Are?
Lovelocks Polo Stud started breeding in 1991 with a few of Christopher Hanbury’s old retired mares. This continued until 2007 when they started to use embryo Transfer and took some from their best playing mares.
In 2008 they bought Atlantic (Revenue x Noumea) from Ellerston in Australia over to England and used him for 2 years before they sent him to Argentina in 2010. 5 of the horses he sired before he left to Argentina played in El Remanso’s 2018 winning Gold Cup team.
Lovelocks started to breed in Argentina in 2010 and have quickly become one of the biggest breeds out there with 20 horses now having played the Triple Crown.

Argentina
In 2010 Lovelocks decided to start a polo breed in Argentina. In doing so they incorporated genetics from the best breeders, Ellerston, La Dolfina and Ellerstina. They bought some stallions including Open El Padrino (Sportivo x Illusion) from Ellerstina and they bought 3 stallions (Nutbush, Botox and Christian) from Ellerston in Australia over to Argentina and used them to cover their mares. The results can now be seen playing all over the world with the best players.
